Publication Date: 2022-02-07 1930: Two industry giants, Bethlehem Steel Corporation and United States Steel Corporation, agreed to standardize wide-flange shapes. These newly standardized flanges were incorporated into the AISC Manual.
1938: AISC established the J. Lloyd Kimbrough Medal to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the structural steel fabrication industry.
