CSA W59 is the Canadian standard for welded steel construction.

CAN/CGSB-48.9712 is the Canadian standard for qualification and certification of NDT personnel.

CSA W59 defines the requirements for fabrication and inspection of welded structures, whereas CAN/CGSB-48.9712 defines the qualification requirements for personnel performing non-destructive testing activities.

CAN/CGSB-48.9712 is a Canadian national standard for NDT personnel certification, developed based on the internationally recognized ISO 9712 framework. The certification is implemented and administered by the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) as the authorized certification body.
