From June 22 to June 29, 2017, Doug Luciani, President of the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB), along with CWB board members, visited Allmark, CWB's exclusive partner in China. During their visit, they engaged in in-depth discussions with Allmark's management team regarding the development of CWB's business in the Chinese market, sharing insights on improving certification efficiency and enhancing service quality.

Accompanied by Allmark's management, Doug Luciani and the CWB delegation also visited Baosteel Steel Structure and Baoye Steel Structure, both leading Chinese steel structure companies. As early adopters of CWB certification in China, these companies have been at the forefront of international expansion in the steel structure industry. During meetings with CWB's leadership, all parties openly discussed the challenges and opportunities in the China-Canada steel structure trade.

Doug Luciani emphasized CWB's commitment to supporting Chinese steel structure manufacturers in entering the North American market. Furthermore, given CWB's authority to witness ISO 9606 welder qualification tests and ISO 15614 procedure qualification tests, CWB can offer its recognized services beyond North America, assisting clients in global projects.

At the IIW (International Institute of Welding) Annual Meeting in late June, Doug Luciani was elected as the new IIW President, a recognition of CWB's outstanding contributions in recent years. This achievement further solidifies CWB's global credibility and underscores the industry's high regard for CWB certifications.
