AISC has recently introduced new certification requirements for building fabricators and hydraulic steel structures, aiming to simplify and optimize fabrication processes. These updates provide greater confidence in certified manufacturers' production quality for owners, engineers, regulators, and other stakeholders.

The changes are based on the "Standard for Steel Building Structures-2006 (AISC 201-06)", which establishes the fundamental requirements for quality management systems in structural steel fabrication.

Additionally, in response to market demands, AISC has introduced a new certification program for hydraulic steel structures, which is now open for applications.

The new certification requirements have been in effect since May 1, 2017.
