It evaluates the quality management capability of structural steel manufacturers, including welding systems, personnel qualifications, raw material control, product testing and traceability management.
· Welding Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) and Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) shall comply with AS/NZS 1554.1.
· Approved welding procedures and complete qualification records are required.
· Welding plans shall define welding sequence, preheat requirements and inspection points.
· Welding shall be managed under an appropriate quality management system, with AS/NZS ISO 3834 recommended.
· Quality documentation, Quality Plan and Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) shall be established.
· Welding personnel shall meet applicable requirements including AS/NZS 1554, AS/NZS 2980, ISO 9606-1, ISO 14731, AS/NZS 2214 and AS ISO 9712.
· Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), including UT, MT, RT and PT.
· 100% visual inspection (VT) of welds.
· Coating thickness inspection and surface treatment verification.
· Material testing certificates for steel materials.
· CC2: Partial Traceability.
· CC3/CC4: Full Traceability, where welders and welding procedures can be traced to individual welds.
